The only reason humans have survived this long is by using the Plants. They're a species of biological generators that can produce power, water, and all the other resources the planet didn't have.

But they're also capable of being conscious, independent beings. And two of them are. And one of them is, as you say, "up in arms"... about humanity exploiting them.
